Hi Quincy,

I've got a Perris like this:
http://www.lathes.co.uk/perris/ . Would details of its back gearing assist?
I think the present-day Cowells (they took over the lathe after Mr Perris died) 90ME has very similar arrangements.

I've cut the end off it twice, but it's still too short

H, any end shot showing the gears and their bearings, etc. would be of interest! thanks, Quincy

Hi Quincy,

I'll send you a PM with some photos. I also have the original construction notes for my Perris SL90, and I put a PDF of them in the Files section of the Cowells 90 Group:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cowells_90/
The back gears are dealt with on pages 20/21/22 of the PDF (not the numbers appearing at the bottom of the scanned pages). You need to join the group before you can get into its Files section.
