The Lancaster
Brass_Machine:
The Lancaster is a work of art.
Seriously, Chuck... Are they restoring it or making the coolest pantry? I see the Cheerios and food...

The white stripes on the wings are the Invasion Idents. from 1944.
Could be a Griffon engine in it.
Have a hark
Later ones were IIRC.
36 litres as compared with the Merlin's 27. Still a V-12 engine.
Also had a 5-blade prop I think, or some had, maybe High Altitude Recce aircraft.

I have been down to Mount Hope and saw the Lancaster in the Hanger last fall. It is an incredible aircraft in my mind. It would definitely be worthwhile driving over to see it as I think that it is one of only two that are still airworthy, the other is in England. There are so many other aircraft there as well. You are best to go early in the morning through the week in an off peak time then you will have lots of time to see everything and take pictures. I plan on going back again this fall for another look around. :D
Cheers

Love that sound   I had the luck to be in a warehouse beside the taxiway twenty-something years ago at Dorval Airport when a Lancaster came in. Happily, the boss was as interested as I was, so no grief about dropping everything to go out and drool. Was a bit of "the return of the prodigal" for the aircraft, Dorval was built for Ferry Command

Dave,
Last night`s edition of the Antiques Roadshow..... That Spit` flewpast! :bugeye: The engine sounded flat, even on my brand new tele`.......
Thanks for vids....... Those two don`t sound right either, to me. Sort of throttled back. Unhappy..... ::)
Now, a Merlin has harmony, it sings.....
Probably, less power..... So, working harder at those flypast speeds......
