Hi All

I was in Tesco's car park loading up the old push bike with supplies at 5.19 pm this evening and heard the drone of a multi engined aircraft in the distance. As the aircraft got nearer and  louder it resolved into the unmistakable sound of four synchronized Rolls Royce Merlins sweet music to an aviation enthusiast's ears and the aircraft looked great as well it was "The Lancaster" and i watched it till it disappeared in the distance.

Cheers Paul

The scream of jet engines will NEVER match the music of a finely tuned piston engine. Especially those RR V 12's!

A few years back, our housing estate must have been at the centre of the Flypast`s return loop......

Lanc, Hurricane, & Spit circled, then flew away...... Three times!

The Silly Mare living across the road insisted on shouting to me, each time.... "What are they, David? What are they David? What are they......."

SHADDAP WOMAN, an listen to the music!!!!!!

Six Merlins up above, Gobby shouting in me earhole........  :bang: :bang:

Last year, when I was high up on my carport roof. A Spitfire with black/ white wing bars carried out 10(?) strafing runs over a neighbouring house!

Wonderful display but, that engine was not a Merlin..... Didn`t sound right to me.......  ::)

here is a picture of a lanc that is being restored here in downsview ontario. they say it will never fly because the air frame is beyond repair.

there is a lanc that flys out of mount hope ontario, i have never seen it in person but one day i might just have to go and see it in the air.
