I had the geared head version the Emcomat 8.6 for a number of years, very good build quality and accuracy. Was sorry to see it go but I needed larger capacity.

If you are looking at a second hand one make sure you get 3 & 4 jaw chucks with it as they have a rare chuck mounting and a new Emco one will set you back.

Hi David,
I have the Craftsman version of that. Same machine, just rebadged. I bought it used and have had no problems. You will want a QCTP, traveling rest and all of the change gears, if they don't come with it. I agree with both 3 & 4 jaw chucks being needed. This is a picture of mine. I am just a novice and the weather has kept me away from it for quite awhile.
