I'm a newbie too
« on: January 07, 2010, 10:51:34 AM »
Hi all

Another newbie here introducing himself - found this site from a link on the HMEM forum and have to say you all sound like a very friendly bunch so hoping to take advantage of that and learn lots from you.

I've no real experience of machining (I'm an accountant by trade !), but I bought an old Atlas lathe and an Elliott Juniormill last year but haven't really used them in anger yet. Determined to get my act together this year and actually start making things, hoping to start off with some simple tooling and a basic wobbler or two and get more creative from there.

Cheers

Jim

Welcome Jim

Small tooling is a good place to start - it give satisfaction to make and again every time you use them.   :mmr:
