Hello friends..
As I've just registered I suppose this is a good time to introduce myself.
My name is Rob and I'm a 42 year old self employed electronics designer/engineer. I'm based near the end of the A180 in the UK near Grimsby off the M180 gateway to nowhere.
I started my working career with Ciba Geigy as an apprentice fitter/turner.
I've always enjoyed electronics more so I retrained ,started off repairing welding sets and then went on my own..and i have never looked back...My current lines are designing industrial control systems ,agricultural HVAC and feeding systems and repairing pcbs and inverters for a local company.
I've used my equipment for the last 20 years to help my electronics related projects where needed.
I'm proficient using my equipment but certainly not an expert and I have never built complex items.
I currently own a couple of lathes, universal mill, and a garage full of related equipment.
I own an Emco maximat V13 , a Harrison L5 and a Gate pheobus milling machine.
I'm joining this and some other forums to learn and to converse with the like minded...so that by the time I'm retired I will be able to construct the mandatory steam engine

cheers Rob.
