Chester mini lathe spares.
« on: October 06, 2009, 04:22:44 AM »
I have been collecting part to do a build of a mini lathe-all the parts is of a Chester mini lathe Some has some mods already done and others are as I got them.

I have the bed - headstock with taper bearings and a metal master (big) gear - tailstock -motor (dont know if it works)also apron with Ali gear cover and sadlle.  Pan and back splash gaurd also.

My wife insists I put it on Ebay because I got the bigger lathe as a project now-#If anybody is interested I would rather it go to a Madmodder as well.

Any offers part or all of it.

I wouldn't mind the headstock, do you have the spindle with it? what's a metal master?
You will find it a distinct help… if you know and look as if you know what you are doing. (IRS training manual)

darren

I'd guess the metal master bit is in reference to the two gears inside the headstock which are plastic from the factory and break. you can get aftermarket metal replacement ones.

Stew, if it's a mini lathe motor it'll be 180VDC, you would need a power supply and all that entails.

Stew - motor and all the electronics i have for it is yours -I have never been able to test any of it.

There is a small circuit bord that looks like a power suply and a bigger one that looks like speed controll and diretion.
