Friday Night Football
« on: October 02, 2009, 04:57:34 PM »
We were picked in the power poll at #10 this week, first appearance in the poll in forever. An away game tonight that could set the tone for the rest of the season. As usual, probably the team with the least penalties and turnovers will be the victor.

Glad to see that your team is getting some recognition. Where are you from and what is the name of the team? I presume that it is a highschool team!

Hope they come home with a convincing win.

Cheers

Thanks Don,

We are in Cobb County Ga. R.L. Osborne high school. I really don't think we are a play off quality team yet, but maturity should show up next year and who knows, it could happen this year.

Going out the door now. Will post results tonight.

We're in Forsyth country, not too far away.  My daughter is in the school band and goes to the games.  We are playing Gainesville tonight, #1 ranked in AAA, so we will probably get our a$$ kicked.   :wack:

Final score 28-0. them & us. Could have been better, but could havve been worse. We fumbled on the one yard line and that led to them scoring. We were wak up the middle and slow around the ends. Couldn't maintain the blocks long enough to break out.

Kvom,
I feel your pain, teams llike Gainsville and Cairo and some of the other south Ga. AAA teams are perennial power houses and could compete in AAAAA. I am happy jut giving the play off caliber teams something to think about. Sometimes the halttime show is the best part of the game.

Not really high scoring. This is Football as in america. What you are thinking about is what we call Soccer with 1 point for a goal. Here it is 6 points for a touchdown and 1 point for a conversion after the touchdown. A field goal will give you 3 points. It isn't unusual to see both teams get 40 or more points in the same game.

Playing time for the game is 4 15 minute quarters for a total of 1 hour.

Cheers
