new cabinet to house models
« on: October 01, 2009, 04:48:53 PM »
for the last 3 or 4 years i have been bugging my dad to make me a cabinet to put my models in. well last month he delivered this

it is made out of cherry wood and is 6'6" high x 6'8" long x 18" deep.

the top half as you can see has glass doors to show off the models and the bottom half has solid wood doors to hide all the castings i have yet to finish.

my dad worked as a custom cabinet maker for the last 35 years and i think this will be his last big project.

he mostly works on old hit and miss gas engines like this

Chuck

You have got truly great piece of furniture there. Built by hands that you know and trust. A piece of furniture that can stay in the family for many generations and have stories to tell your grandchildren. Tell you dad that he made an excellent job of it and that he can should be proud of it. I am sure that a lot others are wishing it was sitting in their den. :ddb: :ddb: :ddb:

Fancy storing all that old iron junk in such a beautiful piece of brown stuff.

Just send all that junk over to me, and I will find a better place to store it.
