Was out standing on the rear deck of the house looking North over the roof of my 2 story shop when appears a Russian helicopter. Then drops below the tree line, Damned what ya see when You don't have a gun or camera!   By the time I got the camera I could hear it but it was below the tree line.

Man when them leftist dem-O-crats want ya to go socialist, they mean it.

Ok they are doing a remake of one of the dumber movies of all time red dawn. They are shooting a couple of scenes for the movie in Mount Clemens. Downtown they have had a couple streets closed of for a couple of days. They were supposed to RESURFACE them, which they did technically. They did the travelers con trick, of using the asphalt surface sealer and they painted the lines on them. Of course no one can use the streets till they are finished.

They also are about 2 blocks from my house, on another street. They built a fake front with an airplane crashed into it. On the grass between two houses. They had stopped people that live in the area, from parking their cars in the neighborhood and they couldn't be outside, or have the windows open or they had to leave when they were shooting the scenes. They had the sheriff's there to in force the orders. Hey Comrade! papers please!

I am surprised that one of the crazies hasn't shot up the Russkie's hide out yet or burned the equipment in the parking lot around the corner at the hospital.

well, living in Hollyweird sucks. Glad the state has decided it will stop all or most of the money they are given the robber movie barons as this production is a closed union set. they even lease the trucks and brought them from Cali. They have started some filming and for those that don't know it is a lot like the military hurry up and wait. Between the bursts of sporadic  automatic gunfire during the stunt set up and practice. I did find out I was wrong about one thing. This is Red Dawn 2010 which means the Chinese are invading Mount Clemens not the Russians. Hell I thought they owned most of the US so they wouldn't have to invade us.
Any ways here are some links to some video's of the action. And the wifey found out that there are 118,000 google hits for REMAKE RED DAWN. Was sorry to see Patrick Swayzee died as he was the best part of the original.

It has been a pain in the A$$ having them shooting in and around the house and street as you can't move about as normal. Along with people coming to see what is going on etc.

In this neighborhood that's the norm  and getting bigger by the day. The local Meijers emporium like Wally world only in the Great Lakes states and Kentucky I think! they are having to buy more of the hover scooters. Because they are tried of waiting for one of the other biguns that can't walk and push a cart. Got to feel for anybody on an EMT meat wagon.

Film day 4 Its a wrap!

Well today was the day to shoot the working footage for the movie of the Chinese invasion. Stated about 8:30am and till about 6pm Sporadic automatic gunfire, thought out the day. As they worked their way down the street fighting as the Chinese paratroopers landed.

Then after it was a wrap. The real magic began, by 8:30 pm the street was stripped clear of all signs of the plane crash and the parts were back on the truck waiting for the trip home to the prop house.

As filming now moves to the City of Royal Oak, across town.
Took Sunday,Monday and Tuesday to drop the planes parts and set dress the parts and street along with the trees and faux damage to the houses.
the magic of airbrush and spray guns.
Wednesday was stunt coordination day and rehearsal day.
Then today was filming. frankly I have heard more shooting on opening day of deer hunting. But that to is the magic of film making keep the cost down by using minimum ammo and dub it in later
