i bought a set of taps from Aldi a few years ago, been better than i'd have believed.

if its just for the odd job probably worth the money, i pay around £10 for a single M6 die!, mind you i get over 200 threads out of one on stainless :D
if i'd thought it through, i'd have never tried it

They look like a good buy. I don't usually use metric but it would give me more options.

Yep, I got a dremmel clone from there and it seems fine to be fair.
