John Hill:
Thanks Don, thanks Chuck. Not my most notable achievement in life but it is something I use a lot! |
sbwhart:
 How did I miss that one:- great job John  Have fun Stew |
mklotz:
I made something similar when starting out except the reference surface is the flat top of the tool. That way I can gauge the tool height by sliding my fingernail across the the point where the lathe tool meets the alignment tool. Your fingers are amazingly sensitive at detecting this sort of thing and, as tools go, they're always handy. |
Stilldrillin:
I`m not poor. But I`ve only just read this.... And I think it`s great..... I need to make one! :D Well done john! David D |
John Stevenson:
I just set a sharp tool up on centre and scribed a line onto two of my most used squares, both sides. All the old turners did this when i was an apprentice. Why bother making an extra tool when one can do two jobs ? John S. |
