Mark the die is split so that when a spoke is in it and put in a vice it squeezes on the spoke and holds it firm then the end of the spoke is heated and forged in to the die see picture. I have have been working on truing the wheels . I got the front one done and mounted the tire. they are Avon Speedmaster 3.00-21 |

Interesting so are the spokes tapped into the hub or do you insert nipples through the hub? |

Osselton yes the hub is threaded. The flashbackfab bikes are a very good example of a board track racer and thanks for posting the link but that is not what you are going to see in this post what I am building will have some similarities to a board track racer but is not a replica of a original. I enjoy building engines and the bike is basically a display stand for my engine all though it should be rideable it will be ridden very little Here is a picture of the rear hub and sprocket blank |
