Making shiney things
mechman48:
Nice stuff Eric; I wouldn't be able to see that tiny stuff as my stubby digits would get in the way, I'd probably be trying to entwine my digits together
George.

I suppose really it should be two suits - a Chain Male and a Chain Female both made from Chain Mail

So, the boss bangs iron into submission and you work with little stuff. Well I know not always cos I've read some of your other posts.

Yup... that's how things have been going. Taking a few fine metals classes at the same school she goes to for bashing hot steel. People look at her in wonder and awe when they find out her hobby. Then look at me with confusion when they hear about this hobby...
In a couple of weeks I have a class on making Mokume Gane.
It is kinda like Damascus but with nonferrous metals. Looking forward to it... Thinking about machining some rings out of it
Been trying to convince the missus to post up the Damascus kitchen knife she made at a class... it is amazing.

That is nice stuff.
That is really amazing that even at this time some hobbies are considered fit for 50% and unfit for other half. I would funny looks and put bit more spin to it. "Jeah you should see the chainmail tanga I just made".
Nothing wrong with different types embelishment and jewelry, it is often the process of learning somethng new.
Damascus is amazing in any form. Some people use chainsaw chain as a one material, those look very modern. Hope you guy's post more pictures you have made.
incidently my daugter found the first knife I ever made. It's awfull, but it's my first "puukko" I ever made.

Pekka...
That chainsaw Damascus ends up looking pretty good. For her class they used Bearings and Powdered steel in a canister.
I bought a piece of Damascus steel rod. Will machine a ring from it in a few months. Practicing on some stainless first.
