Banned Saw

I did exactly the same to a Machine Mart three tier trolley that looks identical. It was to mount a Belt / Disk linisher on. I found that the bean cans that they made the shelves from were too thin, so I bolted a bit of 3 mm hot rolled plate on top to stiffen it up a bit.

Gave it away eventually when I got a more robust arrangement.

I was feeling keen so built a wooden storage unit under mine. So I have drawers to store blades in and other useful bits- jigs etc for it.

Put mine on old chair castors on the theory (   ) that if it will take my weight a bandsaw and a few bits shouldn't be a problem.

I can now only just move the unit so a diet for it maybe needed :jaw:

But on the bright side - it doesn't move when you roll it into any position, come to think of it even moving it is Hernia inducing. :loco:

That original leg thingy is so flimsy that I even did not bolt it together. I cut some V-profile and welded together. Minimum stable size, because I need to wheel it around. I just put the rear wheels a little more back than original because I want to use vertical too and original wheel location did not give me peace of mind.

Original castors were not usefull. I put two cheap big plastic wheels back and two rubber feets on front. It stays put when in use and it is easy to lift from the front onto rear wheels and push wherever it fits.

Not only am I lazy but cheap too! Just a HF furniture dolly. A few years ago it was only about four bucks. Thought about permanently anchoring but it is so stable I got around to it.

Hi Guys,
Went down this road last year. Plus a few other up grades......a tray to catch most of the scarf, an adjustable end stop, an extension / out board stop to the fixed jaw (best up grade you can do),  a larger fixed table which allows the bigger table with adjustable guide to be fitted & removed in less than 20 seconds. Still need to add a couple of other things but more than happy with putting a bunch of ideas together

Cheers Kerrin
