I ended up cantilevering the column for the lift. The weight of the headstock end (which arrived loaded with the heavy end at the front of the vehicle) and having to have the Z axis parallel to  the feet of the hoist  so that it could be lowered to the floor made the moving around a bit nerve wracking. I guess weights would have made that more straight forward, but I wouldn't have had anything heavy enough even if had thought of it.

Made a wee bit space in the shop today and assembled the mill  :dremel:



A good clean and the electrics to re fit is all thats needed now , the old flexible conduit (ally/paper type )  is a tad crispy critter , I have some nice new 20 mm kopex conduit with flex glands that will do the job nicely .  :zap:
