Here goes - it has to be something that can be accessed from the bottom or a slim space at the top.  How about rags for wiping up - they could be pulled out through a suitable hole.  Or a kitchen roll - or something similar but larger.  Are there any liquids you use a lot - a tank for something?

I have a smaller space behind shelves created by a pier on the wall and I've got an old fire extinguisher in there as an air receiver.  You could probably get an old gas bottle in your space as an air receiver - with a drain on the bottom.

Could you mount a polypin of (operator) coolant? (only to be used after the end of the working day of course)  :beer:

Could you stand tall bar-stock in that corner, using the cupboards as a "lean-to" to prevent them from falling over/rolling away? Welding rods maybe?

My feet are freezing after spending all morning at the lathe making swarf from a 6" bar......
