I've bottled out at the moment ! I've built a 64 bit machine specifically to experiment with Fusion 360, and I had intended to upgrade it to Windows 10 before downloading Fusion. However I decided that I didn't want two interacting learning curves side swiping at me at the same time :bugeye: I've got Fusion 360 up and running - the CAD side seems pretty good, and the CAM for standard G code output seems ok. However I need to make custom post processors for the Mill (Heidenhain 355 control), the Wire EDM (tweaked Fanuc 6M) and the Traub Lathe(Traub TX8F which is a tweaked Mitsubishi Meldas V320) The actual construction of the post processors is reasonably straight forwards except it's one flat file of C like code unlike something like FeatureCAM where each action has it's own neat little section - definitely headache territory  What makes it complicated is the way Autodesk have 'covered their tracks' with lots of the stuff you need to navigate to (on your own disk!) being in hidden folders with arcane hexadecimal names like: "6a0c9611291d45bb9226980209917c3d" (That's part of the path to the launcher) Just had a 45 minute session of   and retired for some :coffee: :coffee:  |

John, Does idf50 have an engineering section ? Dave. |
modeng200023:
Dave, It doesn't look like it. Here is the parent website for you to look through. http://www.idf50lifeboat.co.uk/index.php John |
DavidA:
John, Thanks. It does appear to be mostly topical stuff. Dave. |
