Nothing is a heap of junk Chris, just because it is unrecogniseable, means nothing. It was just John and myself making a bit of humour at your expense, as we do with anyone at each and every opportunity.
As I said, if it can be made to work, a second roughing lathe comes in very handy, especially if your main lathe is tied up on a speciality set up.
Why knock the crap out of your soon to be set up precision lathe, when you can do all your heavy cuts and crap knocking on this one, then transfer it over to your other for final finishing.
