Laser Cutting SS
« on: June 01, 2015, 03:58:19 PM »
Anyone any first hand experience of what the state of the art laser cutters do on thin (0.7 - 1.0mm ) stainless sheet?

I would hope for a very clean edge but what about colouration of the cut edges?

Is it a one step process from raw to finished item?

Yes, they make a marvellous job at these thickness's.
They cut SS with nitrogen so stop surface cracks and so there is no discolouration at all, the cut edge is silver shiny.
