I did some experimenting with this burner and got it to work outside the furnace. If you need a really big blow torch for jobs for your workshop this may be the way to go. Have a look at the video.

Very impressive.
If you had not tacked the larger tube to the adaptor, but left it loose, you could have adjusted the length for optimum by experiment, then cut and welded.
