lathe feeds

can some out there help me with with setting up my lathe to give a fine feed, I know this machine will do it but I just cant see how to set it up. :doh:
this is what I have got so far, but I cant see what I have to do to get a slower feed! am I stupid ,if so dont tell every one please let them find out them selves!
I am self taught, think I may sack the teacher :wack:

The best advice you will get for the BV20 type lathes would be on a forum intended for such a lathe.

You will need to change the arrangement of the gears for fine feed, swap big for small, small for big.

Other gears in the kit are needed for a fine feed arrangement, if I remember correctly, as the ID of the gears are different.

Possibly also you will need another banjo to accommodate the gears for the fine feed arrangement.

The type of layout used on these lathes are a commercial favorite of lathes from the sixties onward, but the gearing is model specific.
Terrible by name, worse by profession.

Thank you for the replies, I have just come in from the shed & after looking at my pics it hit me, I swoped the two larger gears, this gave me clearance on the banjo, I then could put a smaller gear in & it seems good to go now.
