RobWilson:
Hi Chaps  Just thought I would show you lot what I have been up to ,I decided after about 20 years of collecting blacksmithing tools that it was about time I made a start on building a forge :dremel: Some of the gear I have collected over the years . The forge will be located in this corner of the workshop (plate and sheet material will be relocated ) when built . The forge stand was made from some scrap I recycled from work , it was an old batter change over station . This was cut up and welded to make the stand . Then the hearth was made up from a bit 3/8 plate .600MM X 600MM is as large a hearth as I can fit in space available . Next up the Fire pot , this was made up of 1/2" plate . Rob |
John Rudd:

awemawson:
A bit flimsy isn't it Rob - only 1/2" plate for the fire box  |
Arbalist:
Half inch plate plate is fairly common on builds over on IForgeIron, some folks prefer 5/8" though! :D |
