I used to use purple degassing tablets until I found that bubbling dry argon through worked better. I had a length of 15 mm stainless steel pipe, squashed flat at the far end, with 1 mm holes drilled in. When I took the melt from the furnace I bubbled argon through for 15 seconds and the scrubbing effect got rid of the hydrogen. |
