Anyone who's lived, "up there". (Brighouse, in my case). Will recognise the type of stone houses in the background.......

"Why was the original build shorter, but this one is now larger, special planning permission?

Flat roofs leak, I don't know anyone that would voluntarily want one."

My neighbour at the time didn't want the wall against the path, so I pulled it back, wasn't a planning issue then but when I wanted to widen it and add the over sailing roof I had to submit a full planning application.

The flat roof never leaked as it was the commercial corrugated steel sheets covered with the leatherette finish, sheets are 27' long 3' wide.
In the UK these are on just about every industrial  building for walls and roofs.

Hi Semiskilled, No I am not telepathic, but I was born in Pudsey, and recognised the dressing on the stone the houses are built of!
