Procrastination....... I think, that's the word...... Putting off, the
big decision.
I can't keep on, blaming the cold weather. So, I did a couple of
gonna do's. For a couple of weeks.
Then I realised, there's probably some more to come. After some more tweaking.
So, I raised the shutter opening higher, (the shadow, shows the original position), and filed the lip to a knife edge.......
Lowered the rear of the wick tubes........
And...... With the appropriate flame. It worked!
Then, a pal called. With a
canyer just?. About a week's work........
The extra revs had convinced me. Whatever I do to the crank/ flywheel end, there will be enough power to drive it.
It's time to start, on the big decision!
I need to know the height of the cylinder, from the underside of the base casting.
Don't have a height gauge...... But, this worked!
Two squares. Held square by an engineer's clamp.......
Measure the height, with vernier........
Subtracting, half cylinder o/d, gives centre height. (Some 3mm
lower than present crank height).......
Work is progressing again.......
Thanks for looking in!
