Photos from the Bernardston (MA-US) Engine Show
« on: May 26, 2013, 05:21:21 PM »
I went to the Bernardston small engine show nearby yesterday and this morning. The weather was very bad -- it had rained for 4 days straight and yesterday was no exception. I also forgot to bring my camera. I would say that only half the exhibitors had shown up. Nevertheless it was well worth a visit.

I went back this morning with my camera but was disappointed to see that maybe 10% of the exhibitors had stayed on. Nevertheless I was able to get photos and video of a few engines and other things of engineering interest I hope will be interesting to you all. I took about 70 photos and will get them up here as I shrink them and post to photobucket. So might be a while until they are all up.

Pumping engine (I have a very short video of this one, too:

In the back of one trailer, what did I see -- two Logans. The owner said he hoped for $1200 for the pair, but was willing to take offers. They had motors and change gears.

Dang that looks like a good place to visit.  How much further south is it compared to Windsor?  (Attended the exhibition in Windsor
a couple of years ago, and want to go back again...)

cheers, Joe

Really nice engines.   Some I have never seen.   Much better show than we have around here.

Hi Joe, the Windsor (VT) show is probably the model engineering show in conjunction with the Precision Museum in the fall?

The Bernardston (MA) show is Memorial day weekend -- Windsor is about an hour north of me, and Bernardston is about 15 miles south of me -- I'm 5 miles from the MA/VT border.

Black85vette, I sure wish I'd remembered to bring my camera Saturday, as there were many spectacular and unusual engines. But even that is a fraction of what  normally appears. We had high winds, temps in the 30's and rain. Past years this show has been hot , and we are supposed to be getting temps in the 90's this week. Last night it was 31!

Here is a unique can crusher, and a video of most of the engines photographed above.

Yep, that's the one.  Only been to it once, but thoroughly enjoyed it, and took advantage of the free entry to the museum that came with
the entry price to the show. With Bernardston only another hour south from there, it's certainly an easy trip from here in the Montreal area...
marked my calendar for next year.

Thanks!  Joe

Joe, I may see you at the Windsor show this fall if you're down here.

The amazing thing about the Bernardston show is its free. When you park the attendants are volunteers for the church on whose property the show is held, and a donation is gratefully accepted, of course. But there is no actual show admission fee.

I still have some more photos, which  will try to get up here tonight.

S Heslop and Krv3000, I bought a lottery ticket today, and if I win, I'll fly you guys over here for the next one!
