who supplies the suppliers?
« on: July 19, 2011, 03:02:40 PM »
First od all, apologies if this is in the wrong category  Just a quick question that has been niggling me! Are there any manufacturers of small scale steam fittings?I am guessing all of these suppliers cant make their own products and there must be a company out there knocking them out of a bulk basis,  Just looking for bulk purchases to keep my costs down!

Here in the states, there are a couple that have cnc machines or automated machines that crank em out. They generally are a filler item for the slow times. There was one guy who use to come to the shows and he made the stuff he sells. Another large supplier has the people that machine their kits do them in slow times. probably the same back across the pond. Welcome to the mad house

Steamfittings make them in batches of a few thousand at a time using CNC, I've bought from them in the past, good service and nice quality.

There are also several small companies that produce the fittings with maybe a couple of capstan lathes etc such as RA Baker
