Welding Gas
« on: December 17, 2008, 05:50:44 AM »
The supply of welding gases can be a tad expensive if you go to the main sources.

I have a large bottle of CO2/Argon mix that has done me for the last 15 yrs or so. It's lasted really well. Built two cars from scratch and then some.
It came from "Air Products" and cost £35 for the bottle and £35 for the gas, no rental and the bottle can be exchanges when empty so costing just £35 for a re-fill.

I've just asked a pub gas supplier delivering to next door if they can supply.
Yep no problem, 50lt co2/Argon at £30....with £5 a mth rental on the bottle.

You can do a "LOT" of welding with 50lt
You will find it a distinct help… if you know and look as if you know what you are doing. (IRS training manual)
