Hello from NW Arkansas USA
« on: January 03, 2011, 09:21:56 PM »
I'm a fulltime gunsmith with a modest machine shop, I stumbled onto this forum and it looks like a good, and importantly fun, place to learn. I'm mostly self taught although I did a spell working in an automotive machine shop, valve work, crankshaft turning, and learned my way around some machine work.

My mother is English my father was a yank serving in the Air Force, I was born in Lancashire so hopefully even thou I was transplanted to the Colonies I can be allowed to stay.

I like to learn better ways of doing things, always thinking of some way to make jobs easier, I guess I just an information junkie. As far as guns go I do more work on Colt 1911 style pistols than anything but do just about everything else too including rifles and shotguns.

The economy being as bad as it is around here, I suspect the birds starved to death mid air trying to fly to greener pastures, but I could be wrong. On the positive side fast food joints are running specials on blackbird pie.

Thanks all for the warm welcome,

Ross.

I forgot to mention in my introduction that lately motorcycles are starting to interest me again. I enjoyed riding in the past but an explosion a few years ago messed me up pretty good so I haven't thought about them much until recently I got a new guy in the shop who builds choppers and street fighters. He's a real innovator and seeing his bikes has got my interest and finally cafe racers are beginning to be discovered here. So I may just have a bike build in my future. I could post a pic of his turbo charged kawa street fighter in the right place if anyone is interested.

Pictures of anything done in or on the shop are always cool...post away

my pal Steve (S_J_H on here) is just finishing up a turbo Kawasaki 650 street fighter type build.
