Darren,
I was there week before last........Stayed in Cannock ( well Rugeley...)

Went to the Bass brewery musuem, they have a working Robey tandem compound steam engine on display and it was in steam... pc is DE14 1NG

While you are there, Clay Mills isnt far away about 2-3 miles pc is DE13 0DB...The have 4 great beam engines two of which are running..Not sure if they will be in steam when you go..

I also paid a visit to the National motorcycle museum but that at Coventry Road, Bickenhill, Solihull,
West Midlands, B92 0EJ great for amorning visit if you're into british motor bikes......

Food for thought I hope......

I got all thsoe off TripAdvisor - I've never visited any of them myself, although I rather fancy a look around the Jewelry one (it's an old Birmingham jewelry factory that's been preserved as a museum).
Cheers!

Thanks chaps, stayed one night in Dudley and visited various glass works in the area ... very enlightening with some beautiful works of art which we could deff not afford !!

Well worth a visit if you are that way .... we then dropped into Coalbrookdale on the way home to see Ironbridge ... stunning location !!
