Quick & Dirty indicator holder
« on: March 20, 2010, 11:51:27 AM »
I needed a stop on my Logan lathe for the carriage with an indicator on it. I was going to wait and make a fancy one but I’d lost my “round-tuit” so I made a quick and dirty one. I’ve used one of the solid stops that came with the lathe added a 10-32 brass screw and called it good for now. The pictures will explain how I did it.

I mounted it to a 1-2-3 block so I could hold it in the vise.

I was going to mill both ends and make it shorter, but decided against it.

Drilled thru with a “G” drill since the bar was ¼” in dia.

Here’s the temporary brass screw added.

And mounted on the lathe.

This will have to do till I get the more fancier model made one of these days.

Nothing wrong with "quick-n-dirty". How many of us would not even be had out parents not believed in the old QnD.
