Hello from Errol in New England
« on: December 12, 2009, 09:55:37 PM »

Greeting to all.  I am a 62 y.o. machine shop instructor at a technical high school in eastern Connecticut.  Been in the trade for 44 years and still enjoy making chips and useful things and not so useful things.

Besides machining I do photography and run the web site for the New England Model Engineering Society.

http://neme-s.org/

I recognized several names on the logged in today listing so I will feel right at home here.

Welcome Errol,

It will be nice having a teacher amongst us, I must remember to bring an apple each time I log on.

Errol
Welcome aboard. How is Old D. Robe doing these days? Haven't heard anything from him in a while. Feel free to PM me if you feel it's prudent.

Hi Errol.

Welcome to the collective :borg:

New England... my favorite place. Well for me, I am a Mainer exiled to NJ for the time...

I just found this site as well, and since I see another New Englander Ill add my intro here.

Im also a member of NEMES- in fact the founder and past president. I retired and moved to Maine a few years ago so I dont get to many club meetings, but I never miss a show. I depend on Errols photo record to keep me up to date on the meetings.

Besides model projects I enjoy a bit of volunteer work at the local narrow gauge railroad museum, http://www.railwayvillage.org/ They are a code boiler shop and Ive worked on boiler plate forming, tire changing, wheel turning and just about anything needed to keep some almost 100 year old locos in steam.

Ive got a personal web site with a range of my projects shown- plsntcov.8m.com

Ive done some browsing here and Im sure Im going to enjoy this site, thanks to whoever runs its.
