I can't quite make it out but at 25 minutes are you just using regular centre drills to start the 2 holes offset from the centre for the grub screws? I've always just avoided drilling holes like that.

Hi John,

                           Another useful video, I am pleased you showed the use of the fixed steady, as you remarked, it is seldom used because lathe owners don't know how to use it. Now they have no excuse for using this useful item.

Another top class video John  :bow: :bow: :clap: , As David says , good to see things like the three point steady getting used, I had been wondering about when you drilled that bar for the grub screws but had wondered if you had milled a small flat to stop the drill wandering , looks like you didnt need to.................Keep them coming lad .
