The other way would be to fix a collar near the top of the drawbar, and make a "cup" nut with a central hole the drawbar pokes through - idea being that when releasing the drawbar the collar hits the cup and can't move up any further, so the far end pushes the MT out of the spindle taper. Not a lot more work and no need to swap the extractor on and off?
