Title: mystery tool
Post by: tom osselton on July 20, 2014, 07:10:32 AM
I have been looking at this for quite a while, it has on it doall 5\8 drill and the # d195 it looks to me like one of the silver steel homemade reamers but it has 3 sides and the tip baffles me so has anyone seen this beast before?

Hi Tom

It looks like some of the old hand and hammer tools I have for drilling holes in masonry.  You give about three hammer blows withdraw the tool, rotate 30 degrees, and repeat until the required depth is achieved. Mine are made by Rawlplug, but yours looks to be home made.

Well that is my best shot,

                                                                                                                 Cheers David
