Hi, new to the site, and looking to buy a bench top mill /drill this autumn in the UK.
anybody have any recommendations as to value for money, or even have a used one for sale?
I've been focusing on a spg 5912. any thougts good or bad?

I know nothing about it except its in ebay and its around the price i want to pay for a starter machine.
Any advice on alternatives?

Don't forget to look at the Seig X2, X3 and SX3 which are sold by arcEurotrade in your country. I have the SX3 and like it, but it is a step up from what you are looking at.

I started with the Chester 16V good LITTLE machine but you will find by the time you got to grips with Milling it will be FAR TOO small.

hmm, the warco and the chester look interesting,
but the vm30 is too expensive and also too heavy.

Keep an eye on the 'for sale' adverts on www.homeworkshop.org.uk where mills crop up regularly. Wanted ads on the same site often seem to turn up trumps - you may be lucky.
