Title: scribing block refit

hi all i got this of john sum time a go so started to sort it out its made by B.C. Ames co. waltham. mass so its made in the USA in not that too bad of nick will cheet with the base as I'm in work tomorrow will flash it over with a surfis grinder will need a rod and a scribe making for it right pics

hi all well i ground the base up and cleaned the other parts up to i need to get sum 10mm rod to finish it off i ground the top to leve the name raised right pics

That refurbish is coming along well.   :thumbup:   :thumbup:   :thumbup: 

The rod for my scribing block has a wheel on one end.  It's a bit like a cross between a glass cutter wheel and the wheel in a pipe cutter.
I don't know what it's for - can anyone lighten my darkness?   :scratch:   :scratch:   :scratch: 
I'd put up a photo but the ferry from the house to the workshop isn't running at the moment!   :lol:   :lol:   :lol:
