Has anyone tried these bits?

Here is a 1/8 bit going through 1/2 of HSS.
The instructions say to use high rpm, 2k or more, but I
found that 1800 worked better. Produced lots of heat
and required more handle pressure but it went
right through the tap.
It looks like the tip can be easily sharpened like a 4 facet drill.

I have one that I bought at a Field Day in a fit of enthusiasm but I haven't used it. I think the bloke doing the demonstration was drilling holes in a file. It seemed like a good idea at the time but I have not had the need to drill holes in files.
Maybe I should keep it in mind.

I was thinking about broken drill and tap removal.

I saw a demo of a file being drilled with a 8mm dia drill and it became red hot.

Maybe the drill bits are designed to drill red hot but
I found that it cut better and made better looking chips
when I slowed the rpms.
