It seems to be something woodsman/lumberjacks uses to figure out how high a tree is... Its a funny tool but really dont have a clue what to use it for.. it seems to be able to work as a surface gauge as well.. but no way of zeroing it.. =)
Anyone have seen these before.. it was a first for me. =)

Yep, used one on my workshop roof to measure the angle of the tiles, then setup my lead slate for welding using the same device. Mine is built into a sighting compass, as you say for the outdoors type.

Expensive bit of kit to be a "Freebee" $227 US dollars. You can find operating instructions on line.

Joules, yes this has a sight as well you can look through and take "aim" and the light the lamp, it has two scales visually and a third you can see plain on the picture..
Its a nice piece of equipment actually not really something i would have use for more than once a lifetime though =)
Ooh nice.. well i got it for free in a ebay buy (tradera in sweden) where i overpaid a bit for used vises but its hard to get good quality vises. =)

Hi
With a bit of help from my friend Mr. Google I found http://silva.se/sites/default/files/pro_clinomaster.pdf which is a pdf showing how to use the Clino Master. Looks like a nice bit of kit to have. :D :D
Cheers
