My condolences to my British friends at the loss of PM Thatcher, who was highly regarded on this side.

I left the UK within the year of her coming into office, never moved back.
I don't miss her either!

"highly regarded on this side".
Yes, and by me, but shouldn't we leave politics aside. ( I know there has been no mention of politics but the undertones of politics and therefore arguments are here and which could/would very likely happen as we all differ on that subject, then argue, and get personnel. And I think could be very personnel)!
This could very easily turn in to a what she did or didn't do, and will end up being messy.
This also can so easily turn into a slanging match over here so I think this should be locked as a topic.
Let the woman rest in peace no matter whether or not you liked her policies.
Please do not post your feelings on here.
Kind regards,
Ron.

There have been some great British women,
Boudica
Queen Elizabeth I
Queen Victoria
Florence Nightingale
Emmeline Pankhurst
Joan of Arc - oh cr@p she was French - sure scared the English though.
I think Margate Thatcher will rank amongst them.

Hi Rob,
I had a couple of years of her, I left 1982. The company I worked for started to send machines to China - I didn't fancy going to China so I buggered off to South Africa. The talk then was about the "Pacific Rim" and even then we knew it was going to be China.
I thought at the time - what the heck if I don't like South Africa I can always come back. :)
Still here
