Title: Hi from the UK (another HMEM refugee)
Post by: tomfilery on July 27, 2012, 03:53:24 PM
Hello all.

As with many others, I have come across from HMEM - not specifically because I had anything against the new owners, but because most of the people who's work I respected and who's projects were of interest to me have moved over here.

I'm now retired (early in my late 50's) and have a small workshop with lathe and mill.  My main interest is railways in 16mm/ft scale (and sometimes larger) and I look forward to contributing to this forum.

Regards Tom

Tom,
Good to see you here.  So you are a 16mm guy

As you must know 7/8" scale is really the same focus on 2' narrow gauge industrial locos only just a tad larger models.

Welcome to the new digs.

Do you build 16mm live steam?

Cheers Dan

Guys - many thanks for the warm welcome.

Dan - yes, I am in the process of building my first live steam 16mm loco - following Keith Bucklitch's "Brazil" design.  As you well know, it is too easy to get distracted by other things - though I am getting there slowly.

Regards Tom
