Hi All,
I think most know me, but I can't be sure
I'd like to post my South Bend 9 rebuild thread here....but I figuired I'd try to be polite and ask if its something you guys want to see?
It's bed up including scraping in ...I'm about 2/3 into it...and I'm getting there....but ....like I said....if there's no real interest...I'll leave it be.
Thanks for your interest!
Regards,
Dave

Thankyou Gentlemen. This is your "rice bowl"....so I wanted to ask the membership first.
I am still in the middle of organizing and watermarking my photo's .....By this weekend I think I should have enough of them to give it a go at a start.

Dave,
Your efforts have me look at my copy of "Machine Tool Reconditioning" by Edward Connelly several times. It was collecting dust until I started reading your efforts with scraping.

Hi Dave , welcome to the forum, I am another one that will say ' go for it ' I have seen some of your posts on the other place you had them ( no names mentioned :bugeye: ) and it is partly them to blame for my Harrison being in a million bits right now ! You were doing an exellent job of the lathe and the posts
One thing I am not able, or not tried, or been shown is the scraping element of things so will be looking more closely at it now.
I look forward to seeing the posts.
Cheers Mick.

It's something I need to look at as well..... I just plugged my lathe in when I got it, & have been using it ever since as-is; but there's some crunched gears in the headstock, the brake doesn't work, it turns a taper unless I'm watching like a hawk, and I am currently getting hideous vibrations if I try to part off anything harder than wet spaghetti...
So, get it done man! So I can learn from you & therefore make a good job of mine!

Hey Mic
Don't pin that one on me!
I got my own problems!!!!

I don't know how I managed to miss seeing your post until just now but I did. I apologize for not replying sooner. By all means post up the rebuild of the South Bend here. I am sure that there are many that have not seen it as yet. There is a wealth of information in it that will help some with rebuilding their own lathe. I'm looking forward to seeing it Dave.
Cheers
