Hi Peter , is the hand wheel difficult to get off ?
Just a thought , what about doing away with the handle and fitting a motor to drive the carriage :zap:

Hi I have been thinking of fitting a stepper to it for some time, I dont do screw cutting but it would not stop me if I wanted to anyway I have a dog clutch, I am about to get someone to move the lathe of it's risers and on to the bench so I can fit a glass scale, so I will look in to a simple belt drive like I did on the mill z way.
thanks again Rob, the gloves are great after one wear they expand and fit nice.
