Hello Everyone!
Like many others, I don't want to continue writing in the HMEM since I don't want to loose rights on my own pictures and posts.
Well; I live in Switzerland; the age is 25 (26 very soon), and I study mechanical engineering after having done something like a high school. (the system is a little different here in switzerland...)
I did restore a lathe for my shop, its a Schaublin 102 VM and am currently waiting to assemble my milling machine after I overhauled the guideways and reinforced some parts of it.
I got into this hobby very early; made my first parts on the lathe with 15 years because I wanted to make my own steam engine. Then some more steam engines followed, some boilers as well and then I had the opportunity to buy a watchmakers lathe. That helped with many pars, as I had now the possibility to build with more precision.
Then, about 4 years ago, I bought my big lahte, used and very dirty and started disassembling everything.
After having it painted; I discovered that I also had to overhaul the guideways and decided to have the bed ground.
For all of the other Surfaces, I learned scraping and finally finished my lathe just one Year ago.
And here some pictures of it:

guideway-guards; they are very useful!

And the very first chips produced on this lathe:

At the moment, I am still at my milling machine and I will present it to you as soon as it has been finished.
