Title: New guy aboard, from Norway
Post by: Kjetil on April 30, 2012, 10:47:03 PM
Hi everyone. I'm an electrical engineer from Norway :zap: working with circuit design, PCB layout and microcontroller programming mostly. I'm kind of a mad modder of nature and always have some mildly insane projects in the works, so I think we'll get along nicely. I found your forum because it was suggested to me through another forum. Now that I'm here I can't realize what took me so long!

Enough for now, cheers!

Thanks Tim! My latest insanity is a long term project with shorter term milestones; A wood fired steam-electric canoe. I've been steaming around looking for the right engine and just recently found it, a 3-cylinder radial engine with rotary valve. I'm scaling it up to ~1.5HP and changing some minor details, and will hook it up to a 3-phase permanent magnet alternator charging the canoe battery pack (will be used for electric outboard engine, music, flashlights, and various electronics. Steam-electric doesn't set any efficiency world records, but with abundant supply of firewood honestly who cares. So my insanity will mostly be focused on the steam engine in the months to come.

Welcome to the Collective.  :borg:

Thanks for the warm welcome Daniel. I did noice the smiley selection here when posting the introduction  :worthless: The best I can do right now is CAD screenshots (attached), unless you want pics of my PCB bin  :smart:
