Somehow, someway, I misplaced my drill chuck key for the mini lathe (X2). The other key that I have for the lathe tail stuck chuck is missing as well...
I cannot for the life of me figure out which key I need to buy. I have a McMaster Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com/#drill-chuck-keys/=ggn1za) near by.
Help?

Why not take the chucks off and walk in to your suppliers or
Take a note of the details 'around' each chuck
or take an impression with a bit of childs' Modelling Clay.
Or- whoops- buy a cheap Foreign 4 way chuck key and find the ones you want.
As the for the last ones- they are cheep cheep but you can go into a supplier-- and get a better one-- at a better price.
And how do I know? Shame, disgrace and ignominy-

Ermm would counselling help you... :D
Maybe you got a key thief....
As a suggestion, how about attaching a piece of chain to the chuck key and securing the free end to a static point? :dremel:
That way you cant lose it.. :coffee:
Hope you find what you are looking for.....

I got the answer from Rick over at HMEM. I will quote it here as well:
The drill chucks on my X2 and 9 X 20 lathe are identical.
They are both 1 - 13mm chucks.
A Jacobs K3 chuck key has the 5/16' pilot shank to fit those chucks.

Or you could do like I did and replace them all with keyless chucks. Haven't lost a key since.
