Title: Hello from Sweden - thought an intro could be in place.
Post by: NeoTech on January 04, 2012, 06:31:55 AM
I'm a 32 year old from Sweden, just starting out with these machinery stuff. I have been renovating and building American Cars for a while and wanted to step it up a bit and go into small fabrication of parts for my rebuilds. This includes learning to use a mill and a lathe - where the large obstacle in the learning curve is parked at for the moment.

If interested in what i do, you could follow my blog http://www.roughedge.se/blogg/ or just ask me..
My shop contains some basics and some none basic tooling, including plasma cutters, tig/stick welder, mig welder, acetylen welder, lathe, small mini mill, grinders and such. I do most things from the ground up working out of basic materials as thicker sheet metal or stock materials. More or less from what i can scrounge up, collect and find. One of this summers goals is to be able to melt aluminium and maybe cast iron from my piles of scrap material collected.

I have som interest in making airguns as well and there will the lathe come in handy i guess.

In my "working" hours i work as a php/mysql programmer at a large media company in Sweden (Schibstedt Tillväxtmedier) where i make backend tools for support services, managment and advertising tools... I guess thats it.

Yeah, i'm called "neo" by friends, due to my longterm online Alias, "NeoTech".. but i'm really named, Andreas..

Hi Andreas and welcome to HMEM MadModder. It looks like you have a nice start to your shop. Many people will be quite envious of your shop. With some of the projects in your blogs I can see that you have already acquired many skills.
I am sure that you will have a few questions so feel free to ask. There is always someone around to answer or at least give an opinion. We look forward to your participation in the various forums.   :D :)

Cheers

If only you knew a moderator to help you change that!?

Hi Neo, (Good enough name for me, short and easy to recall)  Welcome to the collective  :borg:  (or should that be the matrix?  :headbang: )

Sounds like you're planning on having a little fun with machine tools. Don't be shy... Pictures are always welcome and as said, generally good, positive and happy help is given freely.

Ralph

I knew that it was going to happen someday but I didn't know when. I only hope that it doesn't happen too often. Thanks for pointing it out to me.

Cheers
