I'm Norman, I'm in Texas, USA. Some of you may have seen my reverse tumbler gear set up for the G0602 lathe and the sped reducer I designed and built. I purchased a G0619 mill last month and now getting it set up to use. I built a stand for it , lights, soon will install a Dro Pors electrica el400 digital read out once it gets here.
I've built some of the Gingery tools a shaper, mill and dividing head. Doing that the machining bug chewed off one of my ears, errr really I just got the machining bug. My Dad used to want tools but couldn't afford them so he'd build them, I guess I got that from him. I've build an airplane it's a KR2 small two place fast home built airplane powered by a vw. This little plane as allowed me to fly all over the US even out over the Atlantic ocean once, just to say I did it.
My Uncle is a retired tool and die maker Ol Unk could make anything, I always admired him for that. So that also inspired me to give machining a try. I'm retired now so I have all day and most of the night to mess around.
One thing that really is a hoot is having a home built foundry powered by waste oil. I use this foundry often to cast rough parts for projects. Well that's enough BSing thanks for having me here.

Where would you like to see the furnace up and running? Which thread? I have a couple of short videos of it along with the shaper running and the reverse tumble gears and the speed reducer. If I won't get in trouble I can direct you all to where I have the plans for the reverse tumbler gears for the G0602 lathe. I put them on a different forum, but it's cool about anyone coming and looking and I think down loading the plans as they are free for anyone to use.
I'll tell you my video of one of my first pours is not a good example of how to do it. I poured over concrete since then I've learned not to do that! Nothing happened in that video. I had a minor spill a few pours later that convinced me not to pour on the drive.
I've got a video of my plane doing a 200+mph pass down the run way as well.

Welcome to the collective :borg:
Love the plane! Would like to see more pictures of it. Please feel free to start a thread(s) in the gallery and show off your stuff. Go ahead and post up a link to the plans.
