I am a Maintenance Electrician working in a big manufacturing Plant. I only did a little machining for maintenance purposes only. One of my fellow tool makers was building an engine and that’s what got me started. Bought a plan from EBay and built the engine. Not having any training my tolerances are very loose. But working in a shop I have a bunch of machines to work with. (On my lunch hour of course). Played with it for a while then decided to make it drive something. Got the Nodding donkey plans from one of these forums and built it. Now working on a Popping Flame licker that NickG did. Read his thread many many times. Thanks Nick. It helped a lot. Video to follow when I get it running.

 That looks splendid, Goody; can hardly believe you never made an engine before!
Your flame licker is awaited with interest.
Welcome to Madmodder, by the way.

I'm impressed with how nice that engine runs. Very smooth and slow. Are you sure you never did this before?
Looks like you've got the natrual talent in machining.
And welcome to the forum by the way.

That engine looks brilliant Goody, like the nodding donkey too. We don't often see things being driven by the engines, unfortunately all of mine fall into that category too!
I loved making the poppin engines, have just finished the 2nd one and it ran just as well if not better than the first!
